Staying Ahead of Fraud: How IntouchCX Built a Driver Identity Verification Program for a Global Mass-Market Retailer

Fraud Does Not Wait for the Platform to Catch Up
On-demand delivery networks depend on a verified, trusted driver workforce. When identity fraud enters the onboarding pipeline, it moves through standard verification flows using increasingly sophisticated tools to pass as legitimate.
A global mass-market retailer runs one of the largest last-mile delivery networks in the United States through its driver platform. Every driver on that network has cleared identity verification. Fraudulent submissions that pass through operate under the retailer’s name, at the retailer’s risk.
The client needed a verification program built to stop fraudulent submissions without creating delays for legitimate drivers waiting to work.
Built for Precision at High Volume
IntouchCX deployed a dedicated operation to validate driver’s licenses and selfies for the driver platform, onboarding legitimate drivers and keeping fraudulent submissions out. Drivers who did not clear verification were permitted to resubmit without disrupting the pipeline.
Beyond processing volume, the team actively monitored submissions for emerging fraud patterns. Four active trends were identified and documented:
- AI-generated driver’s licenses: Synthetic IDs sharing identical signatures across multiple submissions.
- AI-generated live video: Fraudulent liveness checks using synthetic footage instead of real-time video.
- Altered California state driver’s licenses: Computerized typeface signatures and document alterations inconsistent with authentic IDs.
- AI-generated Connecticut state IDs: Synthetic documents paired with AI-generated profile images.
What the Data Showed
PRODUCTIVITY: 149% of target (76.1 profiles/hour vs. a 51 goal)
QUALITY: 99% QA, 14 points above the 85% threshold
SPEED: 34% faster than target (47 seconds vs. a 71-second goal)
The team ran at 149% of productivity target and 99% quality, 14 points above threshold. IntouchCX treated both as non-negotiable commitments to the partnership.
Verification as a Platform Safety Function
Identity verification is often scoped as an onboarding step. The operational logic of this program treated it as something different: an active fraud intelligence function embedded in the onboarding flow.
The distinction matters at scale. A verification team that only processes submissions leaves the next fraud trend to find itself. This program was built to find it first.
IntouchCX builds identity verification and fraud prevention programs for enterprise platforms where onboarding volume and network safety are both non-negotiable.
